A smog inspection failure is not a negotiation.  All modifications must be proved to be legal as defined by the State of California and not ANY aftermarket part manufacture.  An email if not proof of legality.

A common misconception is that if you don't use your vehicle often then the vehicle should not fail the smog inspection.  This is wrong.  Vehicles that are not used on a regular basis have a higher chance to fail for many reasons.

The # 1 factor for passing a smog inspection is regular maintenance.  Oil changes, tune ups, repairs of any issue that turns on your check engine light will not only ensure passing more smog inspections but also increases the life of the engine.

If you take your vehicle in for service and you have to explain to the people who work there where your engine is located, RUN away.
